Joy

Image
Hello everyone, I hope the lockdown is going good for all of you, and I wish this post will find some joy in your lives too. I am back again with another post after some lazy days. After the Panda post I literally went on my eat, sleep, repeat schedule. Back from those panda days is another post of Quillography. They say a person needs just three things to be truly happy in this world:  someone to love, something to do, and something to hope for.  "I Choose Joy"  Choose joy Our life always gives us choices and sometimes we are expected to choose the one which is socially acceptable and not what we actually wish for. We all are a part of this bigger community which has a set of norms that we need to abide by. But this post is making me feel why can we not unchain ourselves from these society pressure and choose joy over anything and under any circumstance.  Why always marriage and career are considered as the only life goal to be achieved at a certai

Quilling Panda Wall Decor

Image
Hello my lovely readers, Welcome to my blog once again with another lockdown project. Baby Panda Well this one is still not finished to my satisfaction, but i wanted to put it up anyway because the completion will take a long time. It's lock down and am falling short in my quilling supplies! I never thought a day will come when I will have to think about quilling strips not sufficient enough. Honestly I have a huge collection, but it seems I never bought white and black color in abundance. So I started with Panda without realizing the fact I need to stop it halfway. Base of my project  As usual started with the panda drawing and coloring. I am not good with coloring and hence please ignore the bad texture it gives from my coloring pencils. tried to use my aqua pencils and shade with the paint brush but yet it remained the same. I am planning to fill it with my quilling strips beehive quilling. Quillography of the caption Final Caption

Quilling Fridge Magnets

Image
Hello and welcome back to my blog guys. This lockdown is simply making me share my new as well as older projects and connect with you all. Fridge Magnets with note holder clip I made these magnets last year for my Diwali exhibition. How I tested my magnet for display!😅 I was not planning for these to be a part of my diwali collection but then I found these stash of my tight coils I make in my free time. Yes I made tight coils and fringed flowers in my leisure time! So the flowers were an easy task and I just needed a base. Old collection of my tight coils Made these magnets base with my jute rope collection. And I loved the raw look they gave to my magnets. The tight coils I had were just pinched to make a teardrop shape and made a 5 petal flower for the magnets. I used the stick on pearls for the center of flowers and added just two tight coils of green color pinched in leaf shape. Hot glue gun came to the rescue for sticking the flower patch onto the jute

Dream Catcher Part 2

Image
Hello and welcome back with my second post of my previous project. The dream-catcher is finally done and I love the way it turned up. Here is the link to my first part of this project. Dream-catcher  I was not hoping to use strips for the strings of dreamcatcher but turned out I ended up with one. While I was working on the inside strings, I thought of giving it a try since I had a lot of time now. Owing to the lockdown days I was gradually able to finish up the project with strips only. It was a tedious work since using the cut strips was a level up for me. I used my roses from the flower collection this time. They seemed pretty well to go with the color theme. This may not be a perfect work but it came out better than I imagined when I started. Roses View This took a long time than I expected but it was worth every moment. Working with 3mm quilling strips for entire project and making roses with 10mm strips. I refer to the tutorial for making roses

Image
Hello friends, welcome back to my blog. I know its's been a long time since I posted anything. The past few days have been busy with a lot of things happening around. Apologies for not been around much. Today I am back with a new project I am currently working on and is still in progress. The world is facing a global pandemic right now. Here in India it's no different. The government took some stern actions and we have been in a lockdown phase since past few days. So, I thought to utilize this time by returning here while working on my project. Something about my project now. I am currently working on a dream-catcher. There are many projects and the one I am working on has many variations already worked upon earlier by many great artists. The favorite part of this dreamcatcher project is the moon in it. Born under cancer zodiac, I have been a moon-child. In today's harsh reality, this is my escape to the fantasy world. Since unable to wander anywhere my soul has been w

Quilled Shagun Envelopes

Hello my lovely readers Welcome back, I received an order for shagun envelopes for a wedding occasion. She requested them in different designs and in 2 colors for base envelope. I used yellow and red as the base color for the envelopes. The sheet used was a designer patterned embossing sheet. Created 5 designs consisting of floral pattern and Ganesha. Ganesha is considered auspicious for a good start to anything new. These envelopes are used in Indian Weddings to give currency notes as gift for various wedding rituals. Design Set 1 Both the sets had three similar sort of designs consisting of Ganesha, single flower and double flower in coordinating colors. Design Set 2 The pattern for Ganesha is really simple and will explain the tutorial in the next blog separately. Here my focus is on the floral envelopes. Paper Quilled Wedding Invitation

Image
Hello my lovely readers Welcome back after the festive week. Last week was so busy with all the preparations for Rakshabandhan and celebratory mood that it took me a while to post a new blogpost. I have done few wedding invites in quilling and this one was for my college friend. I received a customized order for a handmade wedding card from Preksha. She wanted me to design a card with quilling to be given to Ankur's family. So, I made a quick card with the details requested by her. Here's how the card looked at final step. Since she knew how lazy I am at such works even though I enjoy doing it, she gave me a long time to plan and I still conceptualized it till I reached the deadline.😁 So, the quick thing was to find a template for the card. I really like the printables available online. So I found this really interesting RSVP template Artisan Botanical , fully customisable and free to download and edit. They have explained in detail about how to print and edit t

Paper Quilling Birthday Card

Image
A warm hello to all my readers. This post is about a simple colorful floral card quilled for the occasion of Birthday. I love this sunny yellow card with colorful flowers. The leaves have been punched using Jeff punch. 3 in 1 corner rounder for 10mm round edges of the base card. White paper doily of 3.5" adorns the flower bouquet. The inside of this A5 card is blank to write your personal message.  Blue, Orange and Pink flowers have been quilled in marque shaped coils with a tight coil centre using 3mm quilling strips. Yellow flower has been made using tight coils shaped in teardop. Mustard flower is a teardrop shaped 6 petal flower. All the flowers have been adorned using flatback pearls. The quilled leaves are also marque (eye) shaped. The purple is my favorite when it comes combining with yellow color. So the birthday banner has been made from purple cardstock with handwritten sentiment. The envelope was also handmade from a printable av
