Quilled Shagun Envelopes
Hello my lovely readers
Welcome back,
I received an order for shagun envelopes for a wedding occasion. She requested them in different designs and in 2 colors for base envelope.
I used yellow and red as the base color for the envelopes. The sheet used was a designer patterned embossing sheet. Created 5 designs consisting of floral pattern and Ganesha.
Ganesha is considered auspicious for a good start to anything new.
These envelopes are used in Indian Weddings to give currency notes as gift for various wedding rituals.
Both the sets had three similar sort of designs consisting of Ganesha, single flower and double flower in coordinating colors.
The pattern for Ganesha is really simple and will explain the tutorial in the next blog separately.
Here my focus is on the floral envelopes. One can use these floral designs for any occasion gifting.
All the quilling has been done using 3mm quilling strips.
This design is a heart shaped petal flower with leaves and multi strip scroll. The flower is adorned with a big flatback pearl. All the elements are in dual color shade. The flower is created with pink-blue, leaves in 2 shades of green.
This design is a three petal flower with leaves and multi scroll. Flower is quilled using red and cream strips. The three petal is made using one marquise and two crescent shapes and wrapped with a strip together.
This design has two fringed flowers made from 10mm strips with a tight centre coil. The big flower is a Malaysian flower design in Magenta+Purple color combination.
This Malaysian flower design was invented by Solehah Muhammad and here is her detailed tutorial for the same. This design also has the leaves and scrolls.
This is a simple petal shaped flower design made using blue+yellow color combination. Leaves and Scrolls complete the design and flatback pearl adorn the flower.
This was my first order for the quilling envelopes customized for an occasion. They were designed considering the requirements of client.
