Quilled Gift Box Card

A warm hello to all my readers.

I was searching through my collection about what to share as a start to  my Quilling posts.
I happen to find this simplest of my creation, made for a dear friend on his Birthday. This card is simple with not much quilling, but the effect of a 3D gift box was what made me really like the end product.

The size of the card is A3 and is a 3 Fold Card. I managed to make it a Pop-Up Card by adding a cake with candles pop-up drawing. It was made easy with the online template available. With printable it was a piece of cake to print, cut, color and assemble the entire pop up.
For the Pop up card template I used in this project checkout this link on wikihow tutorial for pop up cake.
The sentiments on the card were handwritten and the message was written in French Script font.

Sharing some work in progress pictures of my work that I found in my drive. I am really bad at drawing and mostly prefer printable template for a project. But for few selected project I tried my hand at drawing and they turned out okay. Sorry for the bad quality of pictures since they were taken from mobile camera and a novice photographer (yes that's me 😁)

TIPS:-

For Quilling the gift box I have made 3 simple squares in varied sizes and colors in 5 mm quilling strips. To show the process I recreated 3 small square shapes.

Make two teardrop shape from 3mm strips and glue on the top box to give an impression of a ribbon knot. Wrap the squares with 3mm strips to represent ribbon.

Stack the squares on top of each other and glue to make a pile of gifts. 😍

Once you have the required number of gifts glue them together and then paste it on the card. This really gave an impression that he is holding 3 gift boxes. Isn't it?

In the process  of making this card, I ended up making another one. This card is A5 size and was a quick one to illustrate the quilling. I used Tempus Sans and Edwardian Script ITC for the sentiment and a clipart i used as a reference for my original post. For the final cut I used my corner punch 10mm for the rounded edges. I really enjoyed the whole process as it took me just an hour to create this cute lil card.  πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ƒ
